Amy Tepper appointed director of Thiel College Speech-Language Pathology program

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College has appointed Amy Tepper, Ed.D. as director of the College’s new Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program, which has been training graduate students since its launch in 2020.

Tepper brings more than two decades of experience as a licensed speech-language pathologist and nearly 10 years of experience as a college professor and academic leader. Most recently, she served as a tenured associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baldwin Wallace University, where she also held leadership roles on faculty governance and curriculum committees and served as Faculty Fellow for the university’s Faculty Center.

Tepper earned her doctorate in disability and equity in education from National Louis University. Her academic and professional work focuses on removing barriers to learning, supporting diverse learning profiles, and fostering equitable educational environments. She is a co-author of the upcoming book “Grounded in Greater: A Faith-Informed Approach to K–12 Education and Beyond” and is developing handbooks to support clinical education for students and faculty in communication sciences.

Tepper is a licensed practitioner in Ohio and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has held leadership positions in the Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association, including serving as Director of Advocacy, and has presented extensively at state, national, and international conferences. She earned a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in communication disorders and sciences both from Eastern Illinois University.

Since enrolling its first class in 2020, the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program at Thiel College has prepared students for clinical certification and licensure, with a focus on evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and service to rural and underserved communities.
