Morgan has been a part of four PAC championship teams during his years at Thiel, winning two as a student-athlete (1996, 1998), taking a share of the title as an assistant in 2003 and winning as the head coach in 2004.

As a local scholastic standout at Chaney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, Morgan was an all-city selection for four straight seasons, running the 110-meter high hurdles, the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, and the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays. He was a two-time district champion in the 300-meter hurdles and was an all-state selection during his senior season.

Morgan and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Greenville. He has two sons: Braylen and Ziair. He also holds USATF Level I Track and Field certification and is also certified in Jumpstretch Flexband training.
