Kevin Pool
Kevin Pool is in his second year as
an assistant for head coach Clyde Morgan. Pool also serves as the College's head men's and women's cross country coach.
Pool, a 2005 Allegheny College graduate,
was a three-time NCAA Division III all-American for the
Gators. He finished third at the 2005 indoor track and
field national championships in the 5,000 meters and posted
a pair of top 20 finishes at the cross country national
championships. His 10th place finish at the 2003 national
championships was the highest-ever finish by a male North
Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) runner.
Pool was a nine-time all-NCAC selection,
a seven-time NCAC champion and three times was named the
MVP of the NCAC while earning four all-Mideast selections
in cross country. He set five school records while
at Allegheny, including marks of 14:32 in the indoor 5,000
meters, 8:21 in the indoor 3,000 meters, and 30:23 in the
10,000 meters. Over his career he helped lead the
Gators to six NCAC team titles and their first appearance
at the NCAA cross country championships in 2002.
One of Pools' most recent accomplishments
was his time of 2:24.44 at the 2006 Chicago Marathon. He has also recently earned his U.S.A Track and Field (USATF) Level 1 Coaching Certification.
