Trailing Bethany, 28-7, Thiel College scored its first third-quarter touchdown of the season to close the Bison lead to 14. Then, 43 points and four overtime periods later, Thiel walked off the FieldTurf at Alumni Stadium with a, 50-44, win – its first of the season, and one of best of the year so far in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. more

Thiel Opens Fall Camp
The Thiel College football team opened its preseason camp Thursday morning with 86 players taking to the turf at Alumni Stadium. The three-hour session consisted of non- and light-contact drills with players expected to transition to full pads – and contact – over the next few days. more

Thiel football assistants volunteer to help raise $135,000 for pediatric brain tumor research
EASTON, Pa. – Four Thiel College assistant football coaches joined 242 of their peers on July 1 for the fifth annual Lauren’s First and Goal - an event which raises funds for pediatric brain tumor research. The one-day clinic, which drew a record 1,633 high school students to Lafayette College’s Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex, generated $135,000 for the worthy cause. more

Six members of the Tomcat football program were named to the The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society Wednesday afternoon. The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. more

TOMCATS TO SPONSOR SEVENTH ANNUAL YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

On Saturday, April 26 the Tomcat football team will host its seventh annual free youth football camp for all kids in grades four through six. The day will include instruction on basic fundamentals from players and a punt, pass and kick contest. All in attendance will receive a camp T-shirt and the winners of the contest will receive certificates. The camp will conclude with players discussing the dangers of drugs and alcohol, as well as the importance of doing well in school. Each child will receive lunch as well as a free pass for admittance to a Thiel home football game. more

STIMAC AND LORBER NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICANS
Senior defensive end Chris Lorber and senior linebacker Michael Stimac were selected as first-team members of the 2007 ESPN The Magazine All-America Football Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This is the first time in history that Thiel had two student-athletes from the same team recognized as Academic All-American selections. more

 Junior running back Dan Hess posted a 2007 NCAA Division III single-season high and Thiel record 327 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 43 carries in the Tomcats' 62-14 win over Saint Vincent College Saturday afternoon, earning him Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week honors. more
