NYPAVER AND MORRISON NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM
Junior outfielders David Nypaver and Dan Morrison were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 College Division First Team, selected by The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Thursday afternoon. Their selection marks the first time in the history of the baseball program that a pair of Tomcats will advance to the Academic All-American ballot for national consideration. more

BASEBALL TEAM OPENS PAC CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AGAINST WESTMINSTER
THURSDAY
TheTomcat baseball team, winners of 14 of its last 17 contests, enters the 2008 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament as the number three seed and will take on second-seeded Westminster College (24-14, 8-4) at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. The tournament is being hosted by top-seeded Thomas More College (24-11, 11-1) in Crestview Hills, Ken. more

TOMCATS POST DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP AGAINST BETHANY
Chris DunhamThe baseball team notched a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader sweep over the visiting Bethany College Bison Sunday afternoon at Tomcat Park, posting an 8-4 victory in game one followed by a 17-6 win in game two. Junior designated hitter Chris Dunham registered his 13th and 14th homeruns of the season, respectively. His solo shot in the bottom of the second inning of game two sparked a six-run frame while his two-run shot in the bottom of the first in game two kick started a five-run inning. more

BOYLAN EARNS SECOND-STRAIGHT PAC HITTER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Eric BoylanJunior leftfielder Eric Boylan captured his second-straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Hitter of the Week award Monday afternoon. Boylan batted .567 (17-30) to go along with a 1.233 slugging percentage after hitting eight doubles and four homeruns with 19 RBI and 15 runs scored, helping the Tomcats to a 5-1 record last week. more

TOMCAT OFFENSE CONTINUES TO LOCK IN, POST DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP AT SAINT VINCENT
Josh TedescoThe baseball team combined for 42 hits, 37 runs and six homeruns in Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Saint Vincent College. Junior pitcher Josh Tedesco jumped into the top spot on the Tomcat single-season win column with his 9-3 mark after working 7.0 innings in the 20-3 game one victory. Senior pitcher Eric Wadowsky improved to 4-2 on the season in the Tomcats' 17-5 game two win, with junior leftfielder Eric Boylan finishing 5-of-6 at the plate with eight RBI, two homeruns and two doubles in the win. Boylan currently leads the Tomcats in RBI with 54 and is third on the squad in homeruns with eight. more

SIXTH INNING MAGIC PUSHES TOMCATS TO DH SWEEP OF WAYNESBURG
A couple of very productive sixth innings once again provided the fuel for the Tomcats as they posted a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader sweep of Waynesburg University Tuesday afternoon. . Thiel, leading 6-3 after five innings in game one, exploded for 12 runs in the sixth in recording the 22-7 victory, and registered a pair of runs in the sixth inning of game two, enough to record the 2-1 win. Through 32 games the sixth inning has been the Tomcats most successful offensive frame as they are averaging .456 to go along with 65 runs and 64 RBI. more

Junior designated hitter Chris Dunham earned this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Hitter of the Week award, given Monday afternoon by the conference office. more

DUNHAM SETS NEW SINGLE-SEASON STANDARD IN HOMERUNS AND RBI IN TOMCATS' SWEEP OF GENEVA
Junior designated hitter Chris Dunham set new Tomcat single-season marks in both homeruns and RBI Saturday afternoon in their doubleheader sweep of Geneva College at Tomcat Park. Dunham went 2-for-3 with a homerun, five RBI and a pair of walks in the 23-2 game one victory and finished 1-for-1 with a homerun, two RBI and a pair of walks in the Tomcats' 10-6 decision in game two. Dunham has totaled 12 homeruns and 48 RBI through 31 games this season, surpassing Randy Chiquelin's 2002 total of 11 homeruns and Jim Chester's 45 RBI in the 2003 season. more

Baseball - April 17
TOMCATS FORCED TO COME FROM BEHIND IN BOTH ENDS OF DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP OF PITT-GREENSBURG
Despite trailing in both games against Pitt-Greensburg Thursday afternoon at Tomcat Park, the baseball team was able to come from behind to record a pair of victories over the Bobcats. The Tomcats posted an 18-6 win in game one and followed that up with an 11-9 victory in game two. Junior leftfielder Eric Boylan finished the day 5-for-7 with a homerun, three doubles, five RBI, six run scored and a pair of stolen bases. His consecutive game hit streak is currently at 25 games. more

SNYDER DRIVES IN FOUR IN TOMCATS' 8-5 WIN AT BEHREND
Weston SnyderFreshman second baseman Weston Snyder went 4-for-4 and drove in four runs in the Tomcats' 8-5 non-conference victory at Penn State Behrend Tuesday afternoon. The win snapped a 15-game Behrend winning streak. more

BASEBALL TEAM PLAYS TO NON-CONFERENCE SPLIT WITH CASE
Chad UlogarThe baseball team registered 22 hits in its 17-5 game one victory over visiting Case Western Reserve University Saturday afternoon at Tomcat Park, but was unable to overcome a 10-0 deficit in game two and fell by a final score of 11-10. Junior shortstop Chad Ulogar finished 4-for-8 at the plate on the day with two doubles and five RBI. more

OLDFIELD SPARKS GAME TWO WIN AS TOMCATS SPLIT AT W&J
Ryan OldfieldSophomore third baseman Ryan Oldfield sparked the Tomcats' Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader split at Washington & Jefferson College's Ross Memorial Park Wednesday. He paced the Tomcats in their 21-8 game two win by going 3-for-5 at the plate with a grand slam, a three-run homerun and eight RBI. W&J dealt the Tomcats a 19-6 loss in the lidlifter. more

TOMCATS MANAGE PAC SPLIT WITH WESTMINSTER
The baseball team rallied back from a 6-0 deficit in game one against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Westminster College to record a 7-6 victory, but the Titans managed to break an 8-8 deadlock with a run in the 10th to record a 9-8 game two victory Saturday afternoon at Tomcat Park. more

BASEBALL TEAM POSTS 6-2 WIN AGAINST MOUNT UNION
Junior pitcher Josh Tedesco picked up his fourth win of the season Wednesday as the Tomcats recorded a 6-2 win over Mount Union College. The game was played at Thurman Munson Stadium in Canton, Ohio due to poor field conditions at the 23rd Street Field in Alliance, Ohio. The Tomcats had dropped the last three straight meeting against the Purple Raiders. more

TOMCATS TAKE A PAIR AGAINST PAC RIVAL GROVE CITY
Head coach Joe Schaly and the Tomcat baseball team opened Tomcat Park in style Monday afternoon by posting a doubleheader sweep against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Grove City College. The Tomcats recorded a 16-4 game one victory before rallying in the ninth inning of game two to post a 10-9 win. Junior left fielder Eric Boylan had a fantastic day at the plate, going a combined 8-for-12 with a home run, a pair of doubles, eight RBI and four runs scored. more

BASEBALL DROPS A PAIR TO THOMAS MORE
Thiel College Baseball dropped two games Saturday against the Thomas More Saints. Junior Mark Brewer took the 13-12 loss in the first game after the Tomcat's late game rally came up short while junior Josh Tedesco went eight innings and struck out four in their 5-1 losing effort in game two. more

After falling to Maryville College 9-7 in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, the Tomcat baseball team used a pair of solo home runs by junior designated hitter Chris Dunham in game two to post a 12-6 victory over the Scots at Scotland Yard in Maryville, Tenn. more

Senior starter Eric Wadowsky picked up the 8-1 game one victory after allowing one run (0 earned) on two hits with three strikeouts in the complete-game win, his 17th career victory. The Tomcats rallied in game two to post a 7-6 victory. more

Freshman shortstop Weston Snyder went 3-for-5 with three RBI's, three runs scored and a pair of stolen bases in the Tomcats' 13-5 victory over Bluffton University Tuesday afternoon at Terry Park. Snyder, who made his first career start at shortstop, hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning. more

TEDESCO STRIKES OUT SEVEN IN 13-1 WIN OVER MERCHANT MARINES
Junior starting pitcher Josh Tedesco allowed one run on three hits in 7.0 innings while striking out a career-high seven in the Tomcats' 13-1 win over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Monday afternoon at Terry Park in Fort Myers, Fla. The win was Tedesco's first as a starter. more

2008 BASEBALL SEASON PREVIEW
The 2008 version of the Tomcat baseball team returns eight positional starters and the anchor to its rotation from last season which saw the Tomcats roll to a school-record 30 wins and advance to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) championship game as the number three seed.  The Tomcats, who went into last season with question marks all around, learned a lot about who they are as a team a year ago and are ready to make a push to be the first baseball team out of the PAC to earn an NCAA automatic qualifying bid. more
