THIEL'S CROTHERS WINS AT THIRD SINGLES, TOMCATS FALL TO VISITING W&J 1-8

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 9) -- The Thiel College women's tennis team fell in their 2005 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener Friday afternoon, falling to Washington & Jefferson College 8-1.

Sophomore Ashley Crothers (McDonald/Canon McMillan) picked up the Tomcats' first point of the season with her 6-2, 7-5 win over Jules Novak in third singles action.

The Tomcats (0-3) return to action on Monday, Sept. 12 at Penn State Altoona. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
