Sociology Major Requirements
The major requires a minimum of 35 credit hours and must include the introductory courses:
and four sociology courses numbered 261 through 591, with the exception of SOC 555, and one other sociology course which may be a lower level elective. (Either SOC 191 or SOC 211).
In addition to the required courses, sociology majors are encouraged to choose electives from a variety of disciplines in the humanities, natural sciences, and other social sciences, and to include off-campus experiences, such as the Sociology Internship. A declaration of a major in Sociology must be filed no later than the first semester of the junior year.
Sociology Minor Requirements
The minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours and must include the introductory courses
Two additional Sociology courses numbered 261 or higher, excluding 555.
A declaration of a minor in Sociology must be filed no later than the first semester of the senior year.
