Academics
Majors and Areas of Study The Psychology Department encourages upperclassmen to have an internship experience in a social service agency to enhance employment opportunities following graduation. The student earns credit-hours toward the major, and may be paid by the agency. Some of these placements occur during the regular academic year, but many are scheduled during the summer at a location near the student’s home. Some recent agency placements include St. Paul Homes in Greenville, PA; Children’s Aid Society in Mercer, PA; Trumbull County Juvenile Detention Center in Warren, OH; Butler County Children & Youth in Butler, PA; Women’s Services in Meadville, PA; Diversified Family Services in Hermitage, PA; Community Mental Health Center in Meadville, PA; and the Keystone Education Center in Greenville, PA.
