Thiel offers a 3-2 binary engineering program in cooperation with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland and with the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh (Pitt), which combines the sciences and engineering with a broad liberal arts education. Two degrees are awarded upon successful completion of the five-year program: a B.S. or B.A. from Thiel in binary engineering and a B.S. from CWRU or Pitt in engineering.

The program is designed to meet the needs of students who desire a high quality liberal arts education in addition to engineering possibilities before committing themselves to a particular major.

Option One: Thiel offers a 3-2 binary engineering program in cooperation with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland that combines the sciences and engineering with a broad liberal arts education. Two degrees are awarded upon successful completion of the five year program: a B.S. or B.A. from Thiel and a B.S. from CWRU. As of recent CWRU offers the B.S. degree in several engineering areas such as: aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, computing and information science, electrical, engineering physics, fluid and thermal science, mechanical, materials science, polymer science, systems, control, and industrial, bachelor of science in engineering without designation. These programs may be modified from year to year; students should contact the liaison officer (Physics faculty) for updates.

Option Two: Thiel offers a 3-2 binary engineering program in cooperation with the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh (Pitt) that combines the sciences and engineering with a broad liberal arts education. Two degrees are awarded upon successful completion of the five year program: a B.S. or B.A. from Thiel and a B.S. from Pitt. Pitt offers the B.S. degree in several engineering areas such as: biology, chemical and petroleum, civil and environmental, electrical and computer, computer, freshman, industrials, materials science, engineering physics, mechanical. These programs may be modified from year to year; students should contact liaison officer (Physics faculty) for updates.

How is your physics knowledge? Find out by going to Faculty - Dr. Hecking - and look at the equations on the board. One is wrong. Which one and why? If you know the answer, you are a smart person and we'll want you as a physics or engineering student. If you don't know, don't worry, we'll teach you, guaranteed.
