Thiel College is hosting U.S. Navy Captain, chaplain and alumnus Brian Stamm ’87 for a special online Common Hour presentation at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 in Stamm Lecture Hall of the James Pedas Communication Center as part of the College’s schedule of events recognizing Veterans Day.

All members of Thiel College are invited to participate in the "Ally to Accomplice" Micro-Credential course to build on DEIB competency. This will be an 8-part series, consisting of one-hour meetings where we will review and discuss important, current topics in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Upon completion of this program, participants will receive a micro-credential certification.
The first class will be on Monday, November 20 at 3 p.m., location to be determined, with additional meetings held 1-2 times each month. Refreshments will be provided.

Jim Cunningham ’77 and new WQED president and CEO Jason Jedlinski visited campus and attended the Con Spirito Chamber Music Concert Series on Tuesday. While on campus they met with President Susan Traverso, Ph.D. and students in communication courses. Jedlinski joined WQED Multimedia as its fifth President and CEO in July 2023. A veteran broadcasting and publishing executive, Jedlinski is an innovative leader with consensus-building skills and a commitment to broadening and strengthening WQED's impact across all of the communities it serves. Cunningham is artistic director and hosts the WQED-FM Morning Show weekday mornings from 6 to 10 a.m., and the nationally syndicated Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra broadcasts which air Sundays at 8 p.m.

The Second Annual Turkey Trot sponsored by the Wellness Committee was held at Stamm Track & Field Complex on Tuesday, Nov. 6. There were raffles, pizza, music, and hot cocoa. All proceeds benefit the Baughman Community Center.

Employees should check their email for important information regarding open enrollment for benefits. Online sessions will be held Monday, Nov. 13. The first session is at 11 a.m. and the second is at 3 p.m. Employees should register for one of these sessions to select their 2024 plan year benefits.

DocuCenter Holiday Schedule
