The Environmental Services team held a farewell reception for Linda Mitchell, who retired after 21 years of service to the Thiel College community, on Tuesday December 20. A cake and punch reception was held in Weyers Lounge.

Environmental Safety Management students visited Deep Well Services as a part of their Advanced Hazard Recognition course this fall.
Professor of Environmental Science and Chemistry and Chair of the Department of Environmental Science Anna Reinsel, Ph.D. ’06 and juniors in the environmental safety management program met with Deep Well Services’ safety professionals and learned about this company's training programs and their safety culture.
Deep Well Services was established in 2008 and is a locally-owned oilfield company, based in Zelienople, Pa., that specializes in high-pressure, long-lateral, and multi-well completions. Safety is of utmost concern to the company, and they have worked diligently over the years to create and expand a proactive safety culture for everyone in the work environment.
Thiel graduate and former Board of Trustees member Mark Marmo ’93 is the CEO of Deep Well Services, and during his time in this position, he has been highly influential to the company’s overall success and safety culture. Deep Well Services is a technology and training company that specializes in high-pressure, long lateral, and multi-well completion and workover operations. Established in 2008, the DWS family has grown from its small-town Appalachian roots to becoming the premier oilfield services company for over 70 different exploration and production companies in North and South America.
