The 2016 Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride, directed by Andrew Erb and under the field command of senior drum majors Amanda Hautmann ’17 and Amber Fox ’17, performed at the annual Mercer County Marching Band Festival on Sept. 14. The festival was hosted at Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pa. and featured the marching bands from 10 Mercer County high schools, as well as the Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride.
The Marching Pride also performed at the Salem High School Marching Band Festival on Sept. 17 following the football team’s win over Bethany. Despite rain that forced the festival inside, the six participating high school bands and the Marching Pride still provided enthusiastic performances in front of a packed gymnasium.
Additionally, the band will be featured at the Fort LeBeouf High School band festival on Saturday, Sept. 24. In all, the band will have performed for over 1,250 high school band members at band festivals throughout the fall semester.
“Kudos to the members of the TTMP for your dedication and enthusiasm, and for being such effective musical ambassadors for the Thiel College community,” Erb said.
