Recent education, neuroscience and accounting graduates highlight the track record of positive graduate outcomes at Thiel. Those majors have produced 100 percent job or graduate school placement among 2014 and 2015 graduates.
The annual employee retreat “Engaging Students for Success” is Tuesday, Aug. 23. The retreat will be followed by the annual employee picnic.
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Lynn Franken, Ph.D., announced three administrative appointments for the coming year. Franken said all appointees are Thiel teachers and scholars who were selected by their colleagues to assume significant administrative responsibilities on a part-time basis.
Rita Clemente and her family have served as a host family for international students. She recently traveled to South Korea to visit former Thiel College exchange students. She took Thiel College T-shirts as a gift and brought back a thank you card. Many of the former students were grateful for their time at Thiel College.

Jennifer Shelley ’16 spent four weeks teaching English to students in kindergarten, fourth, fifth and sixth grade in Thailand. She was the recipient of Vira I. Heinz scholarship.

The gym parking lot will be closed until July 25. It is being paved and resurfaced. Students can park at the Passavant Center. Faculty and staff can utilize the parking lots at Greenville Hall, the staff lot behind the football offices, and the Passavant Center lot.
In consideration of our students and their families, the Thiel Campus Store reminds the community that Thiel College department charges may not be used for purchases of new clothing and gifts until after the first week of classes. Items that were in stock prior to July 1 are not subject to this restriction.
AVI summer lunch
AVI is serving lunch in the Tomcat Café weekdays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A selection of hot foods along with a deli buffet, drink and dessert are available for $5.50. Cash is preferred, but debit cards will be accepted.
Thiel College Football Golf Outing

Former teammates, coaches and friends are invited for the annual Thiel College football golf outing. Cost is $75 per golfer and $300 for a foursome. Entry fee includes golf, beverages and steak dinner. Hole sponsorships are available. Registration deadline is July 26, 2016.
Sixth Annual Lucky Duck Race

Tickets for the Sixth Annual Lucky Duck Race are on sale now. The Leadership Shenango Class of 2016 fundraiser is Sept. 5 during Buhl Park Day at Buhl Park in Sharon. Ticket buyers will “adopt” a rubber duck that will race across Lake Julia for a chance to win $1,000. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Proceeds benefit eCenter@LindenPointe, Mercer County Head Start and Early Head Start, and The Shenango Valley Urban League. Kiwanis Annual Chicken BBQ

Tickets for the Kiwanis Club of Greenville annual chicken BBQ dinner cost $10 each. Meals include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce, roll and a beverage. Orders should be placed by Aug. 2. During this event, the Kiwanis Dining Card, good through the end of the year, will be available for $12.50.
