In May, Thiel College faculty and students will spend more than 10 days in South Africa. The trip includes tours of the homes of Bishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela; the Apartheid Museum; and Robben Island, where Mandela was jailed for 30 years.
Several other historic and culturally significant stops are scheduled, including a tour of Langa Township and a safari in the world famous Kruger National Park.

Allison Gloor ’16 received a Patrick W. Halloran Scholarship by Order of Omega for $500.
Gloor is the president of the Tau Omega Chapter of Order of Omega, a national honor society for fraternity and sorority members. She is a member of Chi Omega women’s fraternity.
The scholarship program was established to recognize academic achievements, participation and leadership in campus organizations, and service to the Order of Omega.
Gloor is one of 125 scholarship winners from around the country.
Tomcat Tributes are designed to recognize the teamwork Thiel College employees exhibit each day. Employees can nominate co-workers for recognition in four categories (Random Act of Kindness, Going the Extra Mile, Had a Great Idea, Just Because).

Comment: Professor Andrew Erb hosted the Mercer County Honors Band on Jan. 13. The event brought approximately 250 students and an audience of almost 600 people to campus. The music was well performed and students were very happy with their banquet meal. Great PR for Thiel College.

Relay for Life Theme Contest

The Thiel College Relay for Life is April 1 in the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. Ideas for the event's theme can be submitted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 outside the TC Café. Five themes will be selected from the submissions and voting will take place Thursday, Jan. 28. The winning theme will be announced at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 in the Rotunda Bistro.
2016 Kiwanis Dining Card
