Thiel College is pleased to announce that Kurt Ashley, M.B.A., has been promoted to Vice President for Technology and Marketing, effective October 1. Ashley will continue to lead the Information Technology division, which includes the Office of Communications and Marketing. He is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Stays at vacation getaways, wines and spirits, pro sports tickets and a signed David Miller bobblehead are just some of the interesting items up for bid in The Thiel 2016 Gala Silent Auction. Sponsored by the Thiel College Blue-Gold Club to support the Thiel Fund, the auction will accept bids online through noon Eastern Time on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. Bids can be made by clicking the link below each item.
Final bids will be accepted in person at the Thiel 2016 Gala held on campus at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. Winners will be notified by phone or email if they are not present at the Gala. Winning bidders must make full payment for their items on or before Oct. 16, 2015, or they shall forfeit the item to the next-highest bidder. Payment can be made by check, cash, or credit card or by contacting the office of College Advancement.

Thirteen students from more than 30 applicants were chosen as the Pedas Fellows of Thiel College for 2015-16.
This year's Pedas Fellows represent sophomores, juniors, and seniors in a variety of majors. Their primary role, while keeping office hours in the Pedas Center, is to assist all students with software programs, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere. The Fellows help students use radio equipment, cameras and television studio equipment. They also aid students with research, writing, editing, public speaking and other communication skills.
Pedas Fellows will be available almost every hour from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, in the Pedas Communication Center.

Free flu shots!
Free influenza vaccinations for all employees are from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 in the Rudisill Room located in the Howard Miller Student Center. UPMC Health System staff will administer the vaccinations. If you are unable to receive your vaccination on this day, alternate days/times will be available at the UPMC Urgent Care facility located on North Hermitage Road in Hermitage. The make-up schedule will be announced when it is confirmed.

Greenville band spaghetti dinner

Greenville High School cafeteria
The Greenville Band Booster Association is holding a spaghetti dinner to raise money to support students in the band. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for students and children under 3 are free. Take out orders are available. Meals include salad, bread, spaghetti, meatballs, beverage and dessert.
Blessing service for animals

Members families and friends are invited to attend an informal service of thanksgiving and blessing for all creatures great and small. This service is held yearly both to remember the life and Christian witness of St. Francis of Assisi, who died Oct. 4, and to thank God for the creation of all creatures.
