Bill and Dianne Thiel stopped by campus on June 19 on their way home from an inventors' expo in Pittsburgh.
The Thiels, of Sterling Heights, Mich., took a small detour to explore the campus that shares Bill's family name.
During their visit that lasted a couple hours, they met staff members, toured buildings, made a stop in the bookstore, and said they were impressed by the beautiful campus and how friendly everyone was during their stop. Bill said he did not believe he was related to Louis and Barbara Thiel, whose initial gift led to the creation of the College.
