GREENVILLE, Pa.—Nearly one in 10 Thiel College students began their college education elsewhere, underscoring the important role transfer students play in the campus community as the College celebrates National Transfer Student Week, Oct. 19–23.

Thiel welcomed 23 new transfer students this fall, a significant number for a small, private liberal arts college. Transfer enrollment represents an important opportunity for institutions like Thiel to welcome students seeking a different academic environment, new educational opportunities or a more personalized college experience.

First celebrated in 2017 by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students, National Transfer Student Week recognizes students who pursue their degrees across multiple institutions and the faculty and staff who support their educational journeys.

Thiel will cap the celebration with an Instant Decision Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, as part of a campus visit event that gives prospective students and their families an opportunity to explore campus, meet current students and staff, and learn about admissions, financial aid and scholarships.

Transfer students who bring a copy of their current grades or transcripts can receive an instant admissions decision.

The Saturday event begins with check-in at 11 a.m. at the James Pedas Communication Center, followed by an admissions information session at 11:20 a.m. and a campus tour at 11:40 a.m. The tour concludes at 12:30 p.m., when students may also arrange optional meetings with coaches or staff.

Visitors are invited to enjoy a pregame tailgate beginning at 12:30 p.m. and the Tomcats football game at 1 p.m. Complimentary game tickets are available for up to four guests. The tailgate and football game are optional.

High school seniors who register and attend the campus visit from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. are eligible for a $1,000 campus visit grant toward their fall 2027 Thiel account.

The College offers transfer students personalized guidance through the admissions process, including evaluations of previously earned college credits, academic advising and financial aid opportunities. Thiel accepts up to 94 transferable credits, helping students build on their previous academic experiences while working toward completing their degrees. Merit-based scholarships of up to $30,000 are also available to eligible transfer students.
