GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College and Point Park University have established a pathway for Point Park undergraduates to smoothly enter Thiel College’s Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program.

This partnership guarantees early admission for students who meet specific academic criteria, highlighting a collaborative commitment to academic excellence and professional development in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualified Point Park University undergraduates can apply during their senior year for conditional admission to the MS-SLP program at Thiel College. The agreement includes significant incentives such as preferential early application review, a post-baccalaureate year at Thiel College to complete required communication sciences and disorders prerequisite courses and substantial tuition remission for both the prerequisite and graduate courses.

This unique program not only secures a path for future educational and professional success but also reinforces both institutions’ dedication to addressing the growing demand for skilled speech-language pathologists, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Greg Q. Butcher, Ph.D. said. Admitted students will complete a series of specialized courses at Thiel College, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges of the graduate program.

“This early assurance agreement is a testament to the shared vision of fostering educational pathways that enhance student success and professional readiness in high-demand fields like speech-language pathology,” Butcher said.

The past three graduating classes of Thiel College Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology have had 100 percent professional placement among its graduates. Thiel’s SLP program has a similar agreement with Geneva College.
