Nearly 65 percent of Thiel College Class of 2018 earns academic honors during Commencement

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Nearly 65 percent of the Class of 2018 at Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, graduated with Latin or departmental honors during the College‚Äôs 144th Commencement Exercises on May 6.

Twenty-four students graduated summa cum laude, which are the highest Latin honors dedicated for students who graduate with a grade point average above 3.8. Nineteen students had a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 to earn magna cum laude, and 16 students were awarded cum laude status with a grade point average of 3.4 to 3.59.

Eighty-two students were recognized with departmental honors.

Crystal Carradine ’18, Tina Kramer ’18, Kyle Marini ’18, Samuel Sesti III ’18, John Thiel ’18, and Hanna Todaro ’18 all shared valedictorian honors with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Nicholas Sarratori ’18 was named salutatorian with a 3.98 GPA.
