GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Community Counseling Center of Mercer County and Thiel College announce the signing of a new agreement that will provide numerous benefits to both organizations.
Thiel College is committed to partnering with regional social services and mental health organizations to foster agency development and to make possible educational opportunities for working professionals. The agreement with the Community Counseling Center of Mercer County aligns with this mission and will allow for collaboration between the two organizations to provide enhanced care for clients and professional development for employees.
Under the terms of the agreement, up to three employees from the Community Counseling Center of Mercer County will be given priority admission consideration for Thiel College’s graduate counseling program. Additionally, up to three clinical assistantships will be made available to these employees at the agency. This will allow the employees to gain practical experience in the field while also advancing their education.
Moreover, the Community Counseling Center of Mercer County employees will be eligible for continuing education credits through Thiel College's continuing education program, allowing them to maintain their professional licensure and certifications.
The agreement also includes access for the Community Counseling Center of Mercer County to Thiel College’s video production and recording facilities, which will be available for the agency’s use as needed. The College’s meeting spaces will also be available for agency retreats and meetings, providing a convenient and professional setting for these important events.
According to officials from CCC, the organization is excited to partner with Thiel College to train and equip clinical mental health counseling master’s students for their careers as clinical mental health therapists to help further its mission, in Mercer County and beyond. A spokesperson added Community Counseling Center will give these students the opportunity to have client interaction, learn from trained and licensed Master’s Level Clinical Therapists, and clinical supervision from our Clinical Director.

Community Counseling Center now provides an array of services, including outpatient mental health counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, family-based services, psychiatric rehabilitation, community integration services and housing services, among others.
