GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College announces Samuel Faber ’20, of Greenville, Pa., and Brenna Parsley ’20, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, as its December Students of the Month.
Faber, a 2016 graduate of Reynolds High School, is an English major with a secondary education certificate.
Following graduation, Faber plans to have a career as a high school English teacher and to attend graduate school to attain a master’s degree in either psychology, school counseling, or creative writing.
Faber is a the secretary for the English club and Student Government Association representative for Sigma Tau Delta international English honorary society. He is a member of Kappa Delta Pi international honor society in education. He is also co-editor of The Phoenix student literary magazine, and co-captain of the track & field team, where he throws shot put, discus and the weight throw. He also works as a writing tutor and as a summer maintenance worker. Faber is a member of the Office of Admissions Thiel Team.
Faber wrote the one-act play, “Rough Riders,” which was produced at Thiel College’s William A. Robinson Theatre. He also hopes to write and produce more plays in the future.
Faber is the son of Robert and Joanna Faber, of Greenville, Pa.
Parsley, a 2016 graduate of Madison Christian High School, is an international business major with minors in international studies, Spanish and political science.
Following graduation, she plans attend law school and begin a career in law.
Parsley is a member of the Spanish club, Chi Eta Sigma business honor society and the Thiel College Student Support Network. She serves as treasurer for Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity and the Student Government Association.
Parsley has studied abroad in Peru, Australia, New Zealand and Greece, which she attributes as the source of her love of travel and inter-cultural experiences. She also worked in athletics at Thiel, as a sports information student manager and intern. She has helped with game-day operations, managing student employees and helping with website maintenance.
Parsley is the daughter of Marc and Donna Parsley, of Carroll, Ohio.
The Student of the Month is awarded to seniors. It is among the most prestigious student awards at Thiel College, with only about six students each semester earning the honor.
