GREENVILLE, Pa.—Ken McCurdy, Ph.D. was recently appointed as the director of the new Thiel College Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s degree program that will launch in Fall 2022.
McCurdy comes to Thiel with more than 20 years of counselor education experience. He has received extensive advanced training as a counselor and has completed considerable work and research as a licensed mental health counselor. He has more than 25 years of experience as a professional counselor and clinician.
McCurdy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Clarion University in 1993 before going on to pursue a Master of Science in Community Counseling from the University of Scranton and then a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervison from Ohio University in 1996 and 2002.
Two additional counselor educators will be hired over the next two years who will serve as the core counseling faculty. McCurdy is developing a group of contributing and adjunct faculty members who will also promote the mission of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and foster counselor training and development in the region.
