The Philosophy Department of Thiel College invites applications for a full-time, non- tenure-track position for the spring 2020 semester at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.
The teaching assignment is four courses per semester. Candidates will teach a variety of courses, including Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics, and course in their areas of specialty as needed. Candidates exhibiting a pedagogy that includes students of diverse backgrounds and interests and promotes such a curriculum are encouraged to apply. Additional responsibilities include student advising and mentoring, departmental service, and college-wide governance. A Ph.D. in Philosophy, or related field or doctoral candidates with a defense date scheduled, and an appreciation of the liberal arts college tradition, are encouraged to apply.
