Plumber - General Maintenance

Thiel College Facilities seeks qualified candidates for the position of Plumber/General Maintenance.

This is a full time position that performs skilled plumbing work installing and maintaining water, sewer, gas systems, and a myriad of equipment and components.  Responsible for technical procedures and methods.

Primary duties: 

  • Prepares layout and working details of projects, works from plans, specifications, blue prints, and written/oral instructions. 
  • Responds to work orders, emergency repairs, and campus departments/services on a daily basis.

Thiel College Facilities is a team working environment.  Selected candidate will be required to perform other general maintenance duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:   Vocational or high school graduate or equivalent.  Knowledge of the standard plumbing practices, processes, and materials.  Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures.  Skilled in the use and operation of plumbing tools and machines.  Blue print reading necessary.

Physical requirements:  Fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, and manual dexterity. May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 70 pounds. May be required to crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods.  Capable of climbing at moderate heights.  Possible exposure to chemical, mechanical, or electrical hazards, dust, fumes, and odorous working conditions.  May be required to work outdoors in inclement weather.  May be required to wear protective clothing or devices, such as goggles, gloves, masks or shields.

Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and background screen.
