Division III Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship - Assistant to the Director of Athletics

The primary functions of the Assistant to the Director of Athletics include assisting the athletic department senior staff in the management of business operations.

Available: 2020-21 and 2021-22.

Salary: $23,660 annually for ten months – Includes on-campus housing & tuition for Thiel College MBA.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.

Business operations will consist of management of fiscal affairs, recruiting, NCAA compliance, and promotion of the intercollegiate athletic programs and the athletic interest of the College. Applicants must have work experience in a related field. They must have strong interpersonal and organizational communications, demonstrated skill with technologies used in education and a level of successful athletic administration, and a strong commitment to academic and athletic student success.

The following is a breakdown of the essential duties percentage of time commitment, which will include but not to be limited to:

  • Assisting in preparing the budget, monitoring expenditures, fundraising, and maximizing utilizing budget. (20%)
  • Assisting in maintaining compliance with all NCAA, Conference, and institutional regulations, including monitoring athletics department activities, certifying student-athletes eligibility, and educating staff. (15%)
  • Assisting in developing student-athlete well-being programs and enhancing the student-athlete experience, and serving as a critical administrative contact to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). (25%)
  • Assisting in monitoring prospective student-athlete recruitment by reviewing weekly enrollment reports, provide feedback, and offer strategies to help better Thiel College reach enrollment goals. (25%)
  • Serve as the Thiel College's organizer for the NCAA Division III initiative, known as "Game Day the DIII Way." (15%)
