Assistant Sports Information Director

Thiel College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Sports Information Director.

Thiel College is a proud member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) and sponsors 23 NCAA Division III programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in communication(s), journalism, sport management or related field

• Experience using StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats or other related programs for in-game scoring

• Experience working in a collegiate athletics setting

• Experience utilizing design programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and strategies

• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

• Willingness to travel on a limited basis

• Superior communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to individuals with a strong background in StatCrew or NCAA LiveStats, especially volleyball, football, basketball and baseball

• Experience in website maintenance utilizing SIDEARM Sports

• Game day and event management experience


• Serve as the primary contact for several sports

• Provide in-game statistics for multiple sports utilizing StatCrew and/or NCAA LiveStats

• Website maintenance utilizing SIDEARM Sports, especially for assigned sports

• Assist in the production of multiple publications and other printed materials

• Game day and event management

• Support on-campus student media efforts

• Assist in the recruitment, hiring and oversight of the department of athletics work study students

• Spearhead social media efforts

• Additional duties as assigned


• This is a full-time, 12-month position paid hourly (PA State minimum wage)

• Group insurance and other fringe benefits as approved by the Board of Trustees for full-time staff

• Campus housing

• Full meal plan for the Thiel College dining facility during regular operating hours during the academic year
