Assistant Professor of Political Science

The Thiel College Department of Political Science seeks a vibrant faculty member for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Political Science to commence in August 2020. 

The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses at the undergraduate level in public policy.  Candidates whose interests focus on the international and comparative components of public policy are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach 24 credit hours per academic year, will support the overall academic program of the Department of Political Science and other appropriate courses as assigned after consultation with the chairperson.   A Ph.D. is required; ABD candidates will be considered if the defense of the degree is imminent.

A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment is essential to this position.  Responsibilities include teaching, advising, service to the department and institution, student supervision, and professional development.  Thiel College gives highest priority to teaching effectiveness and the faculty are expected to remain current in the field through professional development opportunities such as attendance at related conferences, research, or other scholarly activities.
