The Thiel College Department of Biology seeks a vibrant faculty member for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Biology with a focus on Human Anatomy and Physiology to commence in August 2020.
A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment is essential to this position. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, student supervision, and professional development. Thiel College gives highest priority to teaching effectiveness and the faculty are expected to remain current in the field through professional development opportunities such as attendance at related conferences, research, or other scholarly activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and support of undergraduate research projects. The successful candidate will teach 24 credit hours per academic year, will support the overall academic program of the Department of Biology and other appropriate courses as assigned after consultation with the chairperson. A Ph.D. is required; ABD candidates will be considered if the defense of the degree is imminent.
