Assistant Professor—Information Systems

The Thiel College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks a vibrant faculty member for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Information Systems to commence in August 2020.

A Ph.D. in Information Systems or Computer Science is required.  Applicants who are ABD will be considered if completion of the terminal degree is imminent.  Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience teaching courses in Information Systems at the college level.

A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive diverse environment is essential to this position.  Responsibilities include teaching, advising, student supervision, and professional development.  While Thiel College gives highest priority to teaching effectiveness, the faculty will be expected to remain current in the field through professional development opportunities such as attendance at related conferences, research, or other scholarly activities. A comprehensive employee benefit package including research support and a sabbatical program is provided.

The duties associated with this position are to teach 24 credit hours of classes during each academic year, advise students in the Information Systems and Computer Science majors, and participate in service to the College.  While this position is primarily focused on Information Systems, the successful applicant may occasionally teach introductory Computer Science courses.

Please send a letter of interest, CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and contact information for at least three professional references to employment@thiel.edu (preferred), or send materials to Jennifer Clark, Director of Human Resources, Thiel College, 75 College Avenue, Greenville, PA 16125.

Review of applications will begin on December 12, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.
