Sixth Annual High School Shakespeare Festival

Featuring soliloquies, small scenes and large ensemble pieces, this day-long celebration of the Bard's work serves as a forum for high school students to share their work with peers from across the region. The morning will be filled with performances; and the afternoon will consist of performance-based workshops.

High schools will present their work between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the William A. Robinson Theater. This morning performance block is free and open to the public. Audience members may come and go between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., but doors to the stage will only be opened during breaks between individual high school performances.

A number of Thiel students will also participate in the event reading excerpts of contemporary plays thematically linked to Shakespeare's canon, as well as self-authored soliloquies during brief intermissions between each participating school. The day is capped with a campus tour and an awards ceremony and reception.Thiel College faculty and staff will serve as respondents for the high school productions and will distribute awards at the festival's conclusion.
