New Academic Programs

Thiel College is now enrolling students in four NEW academic programs for the fall 2019 semester!

Environmental Safety Managament

The all new environmental safety management major is designed to prepare students for the workforce immediately upon graduation in a field that is growing rapidly. You will learn about workplace safety standards and proceedures, as well as enviromental impacts, while gaining an understanding of business practices to have a complete and well-rounded liberal arts education.

Exercise Science

Exercise science is the newest major offered in the Department of Biology. Exercise science graduates will find growing career prospects in related fields. Job opportunities for athletic trainers are expected to grow up to 21 percent by 2024 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics! The exercise science program is complemented by the installation of new workout equipment in the Paul Bush ’66 Memorial Fitness Center, available for free to all students.

Health Systems

The new health systmes major is overseen collaboratively between three departments—biology, neuroscience and psychology. This ensures that students receive guidance and support from a variety of perspectives and have the option to choose an advisor in the field closest to their interests. The major provides many of the prerequisite courses needed for transition to bachelor of nursing (BSN) and occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), and physician assistant (PA) graduate programs.

Sports Management

The latest track for business administration majors is tapping into the multi-billion dollar sports industry! Students in the sports management track will learn the business side of sports and get exposure to planning, promoting, financing, sponsoring, marketing, communication, and operating sports events and organizations. Graduates will be qualified for positions in athletic administration, sport/recreational facility management, coaching, and event management.
