Clarissa is a Thiel college alumna who graduated in 2011 with a double major in psychology and religion. Upon graduation, Clarissa attended Yale Divinity School (YDS) to engage in psychology of religion conversations about the transformative “self." Clarissa has counseled persons in diverse arenas, and witnessed success that motivates and inspires her to believe in the people she works with. She obtained her M.A. in College Counseling at Edinboro University (EUP) where she has extensively focused on student development in higher education. Prior to being hired at Thiel, Clarissa planned and promoted campus activities with a keen focus on wellness, diversity, and multi-cultural affairs. Clarissa utilizes a holistic approach with students, and understands the impediment that conditions such as anxiety can have on a college student’s academic performance and their professional development. As a Nationally Certified Counselor (N.C.C.), Clarissa will work with students with an empathetic understanding of the challenges today’s college student faces, and promote professional development on Thiel’s campus and the surrounding community.
