Moodle Musing

Are your students’ grades being calculated correctly? If not, check to see whether there is a column entitled Grade in your gradebook. If you imported the gradebook from one of your Moodle 1.9 courses to a Moodle 2 course, this may have come along with it. It is actually a link to Daily Attendance. Even if you had selected No grade as the value for attendance, this column will affect your course total.
To eliminate this column, make a temporary change to the value of your attendance module. Then save the changes. Next, change it back to how you'd originally set it up, and save it again. The Grade column will have disappeared, and your grades will be calculated correctly.
