Accepting Nominations for Students of the Month

The faculty executive committee has created a Student-of-the-Month nomination form to recognize our senior students who have a GPA of 3.6 or higher; who demonstrate ethical and responsible leadership; who maintain a solid work ethic and who are good representatives of the departments and programs at Thiel College.

Since we work with students in different capacities, administrators, faculty and staff may contact the Office of Academic Affairs for a list of eligible students. Please consider nominating as many students as you wish and mail your form(s) to Julie Graubard by Sept. 25.

Moodle Musing

You can create assignments that enable your students to submit their work directly into your Moodle course page. Perhaps you want them to write an in-class essay and submit it before the class has ended. Perhaps you have posted a document for them to discuss. Or perhaps you want them to submit a paper for you to critique, and then have them submit a final, much-improved version. Any kind of file can be uploaded or linked to your course: image, video, audio, text. Grades from these assignments will automatically be posted in your grade book.

Moodle Grades Clinic

Thursday, Sept. 20, 4 p.m.
MIMC (AC-235)

Thursday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m.
MIMC (AC-235)
This clinic is for faculty and staff who have little or no experience creating assignments in Moodle. We will discuss the various kinds of assignment possibilities and create one of each. We will look at an assignment from the students’ view and see how the various kinds of assignments are graded.

Advance reservations are appreciated: imc@thiel.edu or call ext. 2073.
