This annual event is free and open to the public.
The family-friendly I Heart Thiel Day celebration features a variety of activities for everyone—from batting cages to an obstacle course and much more—and a $5 all-you-can-eat dinner buffet is offered by AVI Foodservices.
Community members and Thiel College alumni, faculty, staff and students are invited to produce a video (30 seconds or less) telling us why you love Thiel! Visit www.facebook.com/iheartthiel to submit a video (deadline Dec. 5) and like your favorite video. The videos will be shown through the evening on Dec. 7.
Moroco Article Published
Congratulations to Dr. Laurie Moroco, who had an article published in the Journal of the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri (STAM) entitled "Connecting Dialogic Theories in Rhetoric." Publication date was fall 2012, volume 42.

December Students of the Month Announced
Eric King, a senior actuarial studies major (with a minor in history) from Butler, Pa., is a very conscientious and hardworking student who exhibits a healthy balance between academics, good sportsmanship and service. King is noted for being respectful, going beyond what is required in assignments and earning the respect of the faculty and his peers. He maintains a 3.67 cumulative grade point average while participating in varsity baseball (second base and short stop) and Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honorary.
Keisha Shaw, a senior political science major (with a minor in English) from York, Pa., is an engaged, spirited and cooperative student in and out of the classroom. She is president of Chi Omega sorority, is a member of the residence life staff and participates in indoor and outdoor track. She is also involved in Order of Omega, Circle K and Sigma Tau Delta, for which she serves as secretary and performs much of the "behind the scenes" work such as organizing the Homecoming floats for the honorary and the English Club. Despite her busy schedule, she maintains a 3.54 cumulative grade point average. One of her instructors notes that "she is one of the go-to people upon whom I can always depend."
We Gather Open Together
A group of our international students organized a community art exhibition in the Langenheim Memorial Library called "We Gather Open Together." The exhibit invited community members to share personal items from their lives and share why those items are important to them. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 6. ADJUSTMENTS TO DECEMBER PAY SCHEDULE FOR EMPLOYEES ON THE BIWEEKLY PAYROLL
In order to meet the data entry and processing deadline for the pay period ending Dec. 22, 2012 (pay date of Dec. 28, 2012), it is necessary that we receive all employee timesheets and department time records no later than noon on Thursday, De. 13, 2012.
Recognizing that the pay period does not officially end until Saturday, Dec. 22, please submit all hours (work, vacation, holiday, etc.) as scheduled for Dec. 9 through 22, and submit any adjustments in the following pay period. Timesheets not submitted by the adjusted deadline will be processed in the following pay period. Please call payroll at ext. 2004 or HR at ext. 2150 or 2858 with any questions.
Direct deposits will occur on the pay date, Dec. 28.
Pay advices will be distributed via ICM on Jan. 2, 2013.
