Excellent Choices in Education and Lifestyles (EXCEL)

Eighteen students from Youngstown City schools spent a week on Thiel’s campus attending classes in math, reading, English and personal fitness taught by Thiel College faculty and staff. In the evenings, the group participated in off-campus activities, including a trip to the Cleveland Zoo. Students who remain in the EXCEL program for their four years of high school have a chance to receive college scholarships. Head wrestling coach Craig Thurber is co-director of the EXCEL program.
