Congratulations, Jennifer Behm!
Jennifer Behm, Ed.D., (information technology) was recently promoted to interim director of IT support services and instructional technology, where she will supervise the IT Support Center and the Mouganis Instructional Media Center (MIMC). This reorganization of reporting structure will allow for greater synergy between the two areas, and utilize Behm's doctorate in instructional design to strengthen instructional technology support in the MIMC.

May Students of the Month Announced
Students of the Month at Thiel College are selected by faculty vote from among upper-class students with superior grade point averages.
Three seniors, Elleanor Belleau, Megan Kay and Rachel Wills, were chosen as the Students of the Month at Thiel College for May 2012.
Belleau is a senior accounting and business administration major from Warren, Pa. She is a member of Chi Eta Sigma and Alpha Chi, and has achieved Dean’s List recognition in each of her seven semesters at Thiel. Belleau has been a supplemental instruction leader and peer tutor for elementary statistics and principles of accounting and has also served as the statistician for the wrestling team. In 2011, she was awarded a multi-year scholarship by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and was recently honored with the prestigious PICPA Outstanding Senior Accounting Student award. This summer, Belleau will be an intern in the Pittsburgh office of the Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young, after which she will return to Thiel for the fall semester to complete the 150 credit hours required to be become a CPA.
Kay is a senior elementary education major from Girard, Ohio. Megan excels not only on the volleyball court but with a very active classroom of first graders. Megan recently completed an outstanding semester of student teaching with Mr. Eric Hart’s first graders at Hempfield Elementary School in Greenville. She is a member of the Women’s Volleyball team (co-captain 2011-12), PAC Academic Honor Roll, Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Les Lauriers and the Senior Class Gift Committee. Megan has been named to the Dean’s list eight times.
Wills is from Valencia, Pa. and graduated from Mars High School in 2008. She is a biology major with minors in chemistry, biochemistry and medical biology. She is a member of Beta Beta Beta, the Biology national honorary fraternity, Les Lauriers, the Thiel College Honors Program and Chi Alpha Sigma, the college athlete honor society. She is also a member of the American Chemical Society and is a member of the softball team. She has been an assistant for the Biology Department for two and a half years. She is currently exploring opportunities in the biotechnology field.

Drop your boat (canoe or kayak) at the put-in below the dam in Pymatuning State Park near Jamestown, Pa.; drive to Riverside Park in Greenville; park your vehicle; from there, take the shuttle back to the put-in and then hit the water! Rain or shine…all class one water, no portages or obstructions. Approximately an 8½ mile reach. Typical single kayak paddle time is about 2½ to 3 hours.
