Fall 2013

Thiel College, through its food service provider (AVI FoodSystems), offers a selection of four meal plans to its resident students. All four plans carry the same cost per semester; the difference is in how many dining hall meals are available vs. flexible dining points available. As fewer meals in the dining hall are chosen, the dining points balance increases.

Each semester all students will have a ten day window to select or change their choice of meal plan. The ten day window will begin on the first day the official board plan begins each semester (one day prior to the start of classes), and will close at midnight of the tenth day of the board plan. New students will automatically be assigned the TC Basic Plan unless another plan is selected within the meal plan selection period. Returning students will automatically be assigned the meal plan they had the previous semester, unless another plan is selected within the meal plan selection period. For example: If a student finished the Spring 2013 semester with the TC Traditional Plan, he or she will have that same plan in Fall 2013 unless a new plan is selected within the ten day selection period. Meal plans will carry over from semester-to-semester, and from year-to-year.

Please take some time to consider which plan will work best for you and your lifestyle. To choose a plan other than the TC Basic, you must have first completed all financial arrangement requirements with the Financial Services Office. The College reserves the right to revert a student to the TC Basic plan if the student is delinquent in his/her financial obligations.  

Dining points may be used to purchase food and soft drinks at the Bistro, in vending machines in the Academic Center, or for additional meal purchases at the dining hall. Dining points are assigned to a student account at the beginning of a semester, and expire on the last day of each semester.
