Miller’s book, “A Joyful Noise!”, focuses on music and its place at the College during its 150-year history. The Alumni Office has copies for sale. Miller has also written histories on the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity on campus and The Thiel Players.

The second Thiel Forum of the academic year is at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Stamm Lecture Hall of the James Pedas Communication Center.

Akira Kurosawa’s “Throne of Blood” (1957) will be shown at a screening event at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Stamm Lecture Hall of the James Pedas Communication Center.
Adapted from William Shakespeare’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” “Throne of Blood” sets the famous Scottish play in medieval Japan.
The event is sponsored by TCTV, the James Pedas Communication Center, The Thiel Players and Sigma Tau Delta. Media communication major Joe Pouliot ’17 will make opening remarks and a talk-back session with Pouliot, Associate Professor of English and Department Chair Jared Johnson, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor of Communication Ross Nugent will follow the screening.
The performance is free and open to the campus community. Light refreshments will be served.

Amanda Hautmann ’17 and Megan Williams ’17 were named this month’s Thiel Learning Commons Extraordinary Effort Award winners.
Hautmann is a neuroscience major with psychology and music minors from Pasadena, Md. Williams is a psychology major from Lusby, Md.
