Professor with geopolitical focus added to Department of Political Science

Thiel College announces that Michael A. Morgan, Ph.D., was appointed to the Department of Political Science as an assistant professor of political science. He will begin teaching this fall.

Employees gather for updates and enjoy picnic

The campus community gathered Tuesday for the annual employee retreat and employee. President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., updated campus on her first few weeks in office and discussed how her student-centered focus will guide the College's policies during her time as president.

Kappa Sigma recognized at conference

The Xi-Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma earned numerous distinctions at their annual 2016 Leadership Conference on July 24-26 in Orlando.

They earned awards for outstanding communication program, largest chapter on campus, and spring and fall 2015 academic excellence awards.  

They also won the Founders Award for Chapter Excellence for the second time in three years.

Jacob Morgan ’19 is wrapping up a paid internship with the eCenter@LindenPointe, the business incubator in Hermitage. He is also involved with the eCenter’s upcoming startup weekend (more details in the Community Events section). Morgan also works in the Thiel College Office of Communications and Marketing.

Startup Weekend seeking students, entrepreneurs

The eCenter@LindenPointe business incubator is hosting a “Startup Weekend: Hermitage, Energy Edition” on Sept. 16-18. The first event of its kind in the Shenango Valley, it will promote energy innovation in the area. Startup Weekend is for developers, designers, marketers, students, entrepreneurs, attorneys and business owners.

Participants will learn how to create a real company and in the process meet mentors and potential investors, co-founders, and sponsors.

Early registration tickets cost $50 and $25 for students. Regular registration tickets cost $75 and $37.50 for students.
