Dean bringing Thiel College and St. Paul’s together

The wine tasting during Homecoming 2015 was a Joining Generations event.

As a resident of The Colony at St. Paul’s since 2000 and with a daughter and a son-in-law who are alumni of Thiel College, it’s no surprise both places hold a special spot for Mary Alice Dean.

Through the Joining Generations program, Dean can support both institutions.

Joining Generations was founded in 2005 to offer academic, service and internship opportunities for Thiel College students. Dean, whose daughter, Linda (Dean) ’75, and son-in-law, Barry Oman ’74, are alumni, established funding through the Mary Alice Dean Joining Generations Fund.

Among the activities the fund supports is the annual Snowflake Ball, where students and St. Paul’s residents share a formal party with dancing. This year’s event is Jan. 28 in The Villas.

In addition to supporting the Snowflake Ball, the fund also provides money for equipment and other tools used in other Joining Generations programming, transportation arrangements for students from campus to St. Paul’s events, internships and other larger service projects.

To celebrate this partnership, an alumni and friends gathering is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at The Cornerstone Restaurant (Keifer Building at St. Paul’s).

Staff, alumni, friends, student interns, and St. Paul’s residents are invited for hors d’oeuvres while learning about what’s happening at Thiel College

For more information or to RSVP contact Kelly Sanzari, M.A. ’13 at ext. 2014.

This event is sponsored by the Mary Alice Dean Joining Generations Fund.
