Eclectic chamber music quartet Brooklyn Rider will perform with world-class clarinetist Benjamin Fingland at the David Johnson Memorial Chapel at 7 p.m. Nov. 17. The performance is part of the College’s Con Spirito Chamber Music Series.

The Con Spirito Chamber Music Concert Series began in the fall of 2007. Con Spirito presents concerts each year, featuring top chamber music groups from across the country. Hall delivers keynote at inaugural VAQ conference

Thiel College Professor of English Mary Theresa Hall, Ph.D., delivered the keynote address at the inaugural Vēritās, Ars, and Quaerō (VAQ) conference on Saturday at the James Pedas Communication Center.

Thiel College junior English and history major and Dietrich Honors Institute student Austin Hall founded VAQ, a humanities research honor society, in 2014. Assistant Professor of Performing Arts  Pete Rydberg, Ph.D., is the society’s adviser. Rydberg said it is the first humanities-based research organization in the country.

Students from LaRoche College also attended the event.

"Many campuses, Thiel included, have a literary and artistic publication for creative writing," Hall said in her address. "The main goal of the VAQ is to promote undergraduate research and publication, and I applaud the efforts of the founders and of each of you who professionalizes the research component that is so integral to your courses."
