Shearer appointment made official

Jonathan Shearer has had the interim tag dropped from his title and is the Director of Communications and Marketing for Thiel College. The move became official on Monday.

Shearer was appointed to the position on an interim basis in early February.

Shearer has more than seven years of experience in marketing. He joined the College in 2011 as a web specialist and was promoted to associate director of web development in 2014. During his web tenure, he successfully led an in-house institutional website redesign and designed a campus portal.

In his new position, Shearer provides leadership for all communications and brand-building efforts. Early achievements in his tenure have included increased local media coverage, developing a print production schedule, growing the College’s YouTube presence with new video assets, and the college's first digital marketing campaigns (including Pandora online radio).

Shearer earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art (graphic design) from Youngstown State University. Prior to arriving at Thiel, Shearer served as creative director of S Brand Inc. and graphic designer at Keynote Media Group in Youngstown, Ohio. He resides in Brookfield, Ohio.
