The purpose of the Haller Enterprise Institute at Thiel College is to support individuals who are seeking self-employment through business ownership. The Institute believes that innovation, creativity and new product service development can best be achieved through self-employment. The concept of entrepreneurship is based upon the principles of self-determination, self-reliance, self-respect and individual initiative.
Sarah Brich, the Fall 2006 Student Entrepreneur of the Year is encouraged by Professor David Miller, Haller Enterprise Institute Director and inspired by Mr. David Ho '86, the first Thiel student who became an entrepreneur through the Institute.
