Office of Educational Outreach > Thiel High School Scholar

The Thiel High School Scholar Program is designed to provide college credit opportunities for junior and senior high school students in Mercer County and surrounding areas. Students have the option of enrolling in college courses on Thiel's campus when special arrangements have been made with school districts and with the approval of the high school guidance counselor and parent and/or guardian. Dual credit may be available, but is awarded at the discretion of the student's own high school.
Thiel High School Scholars are part-time students and receive most of the benefits of part-time enrollment, including full privileges at the College's library, computer labs, and student admission to various events. Thiel High School Scholars may participate in all College events except varsity sports and Greek life.
A special Thiel High School Scholar Registration Form* may be downloaded from this site or secured from your guidance counselor. Consult your guidance counselor for classes that are open to you.
Orientation is required of all scholars who choose to continue on as a freshman at the College.
Tuition for Thiel High School Scholars is significantly less than the tuition paid by regular full-time students. For the 2010-2011 academic year, Scholars will pay:
$199 per credit hour (private music lessons are $50 per credit, $199 for non-credit)
$15 technology fee
there are also laboratory fees for courses such as lab sciences and some art courses
The parking fee will be waived for all Thiel High School Scholars
