Current Students > Office of Educational Outreach > Internships and Co-Ops An internship is an educational experience that puts learning into action. The experience can be with a corporations, a government agency, or a non-profit organization. Students may choose from numerous local and regional internship options or combine travel and life in a distant city with the learning experience. An internship may be undertaken for academic credit (with faculty approval) or you may decide to gain practical experience in a non-credit placement. Internships can be scheduled during the academic year, or in the summer. In any case, the internship will challenge your understanding of the world and expand your marketable skills. Students who complete an internship have the competitive edge!
