First-Year Student Orientation > Important First-Year Information
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION – Friday, August 26, 2011 CLASSES BEGIN – Classes begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 STUDENT PERSONAL PROPERTY – Your personal belongings are a private responsibility. Please check with your family’s homeowners’ policy to see if your personal belongings are insured while you are at college. Thiel College does not assume responsibility for your personal belongings. MICROWAVE OVENS, WATER BEDS, REFRIGERATORS – no microwave ovens, waterbeds or refrigerators over 4.5 (approx.) cubic feet will be permitted. If found, a fine will be levied and the item will be held until it is removed from campus. A microwave oven is provided in each residence hall. ROOM FURNITURE AND FURNISHINGS – each student is responsible for a set of furnishings in their assigned room. No furniture is permitted to be removed from any residence hall room. ROOM MEASUREMENTS – if you are interested in bringing carpet, the following is a guideline for approximate carpet size: - Flo West: 8’ x 8’ - Harter: 11’ x 12’ - Hodge: 11'x12' LINENS – All beds are twin extra long (80”). POSTAL SERVICES – All students are assigned an on-campus post office box upon arrival. Note: Mail sent to you at Thiel should be addressed as follows:
