Thiel College hosting Night to Shine special needs prom

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College is hosting Bethel Life Worship Center’s Night to Shine prom for people with special needs at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 in the Howard Miller Student Center.

The Greenville Night to Shine prom is part of a national event supported by the Tim Tebow Foundation. It is a free prom for people age 16 and older with developmental and/or physical impairments.

Thiel College fraternity and sorority members, as well as members of other student organizations, are volunteering for the event. Students will provide event support and line the entry hallway to cheer as attendees walk the red carpet to the Lutheran Heritage Room for the prom.

Before arriving at Thiel College, girls will have their hair and makeup done at Bethel Life Worship Center. The guests will also get corsages and boutonnieres. Guests will be transported by limousine to Thiel College. The prom includes dinner, music and dancing. Kings and queens will be crowned at the event.

About Night to Shine

The Tim Tebow Foundation will sponsor more than 200 Night to Shine prom events in 48 different states and eight countries. It is free for people with special needs ages 16 and up. According to the Foundation, the night is an effort to change Valentine’s Day from simply a celebration of love to a celebration of people with special needs and the value of life.
