Sculpture professor to showcase work at Weyers-Sampson Gallery

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College Professor of Sculpture Jesse Amar, M.F.A., will exhibit his work at the College’s Weyers-Sampson Gallery.

The display begins Tuesday, March 15 with an opening reception from 3 to 5 p.m. His work “Sabbatical Report: An Exhibition of New Sculpture” will be on display until April 8.

Spring semester gallery hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.

The display is free and open to the public.

Amar has a B.A. in art from Swarthmore College and an M.F.A. in sculpture from American University. He has taught at Thiel College since 2000. Prior to that, he was an adjunct professor of sculpture at American University, an instructor at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a visiting artist in sculpture at the Chautauqua Institute (N.Y.).
