GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College proudly presents a solo exhibition of figurative paintings by New Castle artist Rabecca Signoriello. The exhibition will be held in the Weyers-Sampson Art Gallery located in the Howard Miller Student Center.

“Using the intense psychology of the figure's expression and gesture, coupled with the staging of light and color, I strive to portray the loss, guilt, and redemption one endures,” Signoriello said. “Inspired by the effect it can have on figures and spaces, as well as what it can represent in a composition, light has become a major theme in my work. It is through personal experiences and those around me to which I am drawn; I paint as a means to capture a place in time within an emotion.”

Signoriello will attend the opening for the exhibition from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 19. The exhibition runs from Sept 19 to Oct. 17. The gallery’s hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Signoriello received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and her Masters of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art. Signoriello was an artist in residence in Leipzig, Germany. Her work has been published in Chimera Arts and Literary Magazine and in News Letters. Her work has been exhibited at The State Museum, The Hoyt Institute of Art, Bruce Gallery, Bates Gallery and The Edinboro Animation Festival.
